The area also offers outdoor activities and heritage buildings (La Orotava historic town centre has been declared a National Historic and Artistic Monument).

On the coast of these three districts there are magnificent beaches, as well as the natural pools of “Complejo Costa Martíanez”. Traditional handicrafts and gastronomy are also some of the other attractions of Puerto de la Cruz-Valle de la Orotava.

Puerto de la Cruz is the quietest and safest tourist area, and the one with most character, in Tenerife. A pioneer of UK tourism since the early 20th century due to its excellent climate with tropical winters and extremely mild summers. The town tied to the sea has two public beaches, Martíanez and Playa Jardín (Designed by César Manrique), as well as the famous Lido Martíanez also designed by the artist from Lanzarote.

Since 1788 the town has a Botanical Garden to acclimatise flora from America, as well as attractions such as Loro Parque, La Rosaleda Pitch & Putt Golf Course, and many pedestrian streets, gardens and public spaces for strolling through.
